WHT IS AN FIR?

The details about the commission of an offense must be entered in a police-accessible book. The information thus reported is called the First Report of Information, i.e. F.I.R. At first, it is data to the police station at the moment that an offense has been committed and based on which the investigation is initiated. It is not possible to handle ambiguous, cryptic, and indefinite telephone details as F.I.R.

What is CCTNS doing?

  • Under Modern India and e-Governance Violence, the running of all the departments is done online. But there’s transparency in the job.
  • Under this arrangement, the Central Government has implemented the Crime and Criminal Surveillance Network and Framework (CCTNS). In the city, all the police stations are connected to one server.
